I chanced upon this recipe either via foodista or food blogger and traced it to Andhra Plate- Had never made these before, thought I’d give it a shot
Really quick and easy.
Ingredients
2-3 tomatoes
1 medium sized onion
2 green chillies
1/2 to 3/4 cup of rice flour
A pinch of Hing/ Asafoetida
Curry leaves
Preparation
Cut veggies and mash them up in a bowl
Once they appear minced or squishy add the rice flour and mix it nicely
NO water should be added!
Add Hing and salt and mix some more
then make firm round balls
Deep fry in a small pan
Note: Being rice flour, the outside browns easily but the inside can remain raw (like my first one)
So keep the flame on medium and allow it to cook slowly
Eat HOT with chutney of your choice or Maggie’s hot and sweet ketchup
The mixed batter
The balls ready for frying
Fried
Different bonda n looks nice!
